Fall 2016 Community Grant Recipients

The Fall Grant Ad-Hoc Committee reviewed 21 outstanding grant applications from local non-profits. The had the difficult task of choosing only a few from the many deserving organizations. We are happy to announce that a total of $6350 was awarded to 4 local non-profits.

  • Habitat for Humanity was awarded $2450 to support their Southwood Early Adopter Project. These funds will be used to purchase a video screen, laptop and software that will allow current residents a hands-on experience to facilitate their engagement in planning the redevelopment of their neighborhood.
  • Jefferson Area CHIP was awarded $2400 to support their Family Literacy Project. Funds will be used to provide books to low income English and Spanish speaking families with children up to 6 years old as part of a heath and child development support program.
  • The Bridge Ministry was awarded $500 to support their Educational Program. The Bridge Ministry works to transform the lives of troubled men and their families by providing mentoring, vocational skills and education in order to become a productive member of their communities. This grant will be used to purchase books and study materials.
